As the local State Member of Parliament, Ann Barker helps make sure the Oakleigh electorate gets its fair share of funding and resources from the Brumby Government. Including:
- funding for Oakleigh and Huntingdale bus-rail interchanges
- Blackspot roadwork in Ormond, Carnegie, Hughesdale and Caulfield
- installation of skid resistant asphalt at the corner of Ferntree Gully Rd and Huntingdale Rd
- financial assistance to improve pedestrian safety outside Kilvington Girls Grammar School, Ormond
- funding for children’s crossing supervisors
- turning lanes to improve traffic flow in North Rd, Ormond and Wellington Rd, Clayton
- new fence alongside the Hughesdale train station to reduce vandalism
- SmartBus service from Caulfield to Rowville linking Caulfield, Oakleigh and Huntingdale rail stations and Monash University campuses Caulfield and Clayton
- column guardrails installed on Ferntree Gully Rd
- SmartBus introduced on Warrigal Rd Route 700
- new CCTV cameras at Oakleigh Station
- bike track in the City of Glen Eira
- bus detection loop on the corner of North and Mackie Roads
- funding to improve the surface of Neerim Road in Carnegie
- funding to restore public art on Oakleigh Station
- $57,000 to Glen Eira Council to provide traffic islands in Neerim Rd, Carnegie at the intersections of Mimosa Rd, Truganini Rd and Shepparson Ave
- 40k school speed zones introduced for Glen Eira and Monash schools
- funding for an expanded railway station car park at Huntingdale Station
- expanded half -price fares to holders of all health care card (from April 04)
- staff re-introduced during the morning peak at Ormond, Glen Huntly, Carnegie, Murrumbeena and Huntingdale Stations
- $90,000 for safety improvements at the corner of Ferntree Gully Road and Stephensons Road Clayton North
- introduction of an extra weekday train on Dandenong line for both morning and afternoon peak periods from July 05
- funding for minor works at Huntingdale railway station
- funding for a dedicated right turn lane and upgrade of traffic signals at the corner of Grange and North roads Ormond
- funding for the upgrade of traffic signals to provide a right turn arrow at the corner of North and Poath roads
- $100,000 per year for timetable extension to Oakleigh/Bentleigh (Route 701) bus service
- $383,000 for a pedestrian crossing in Clayton Rd Oakleigh East
- $300,000 for improvements and extension to Carnegie railway station car park
- $100,000 for repairs and refurbishment to Carnegie railway station
- $898,000 for intersection improvements including a right-hand turn arrow from Murrumbeena Road into Dandenong Road
- $260,000 to upgrade the rail pedestrian crossing at Cosy Gum Road Carnegie
