As the local State Member of Parliament, Ann Barker helps make sure the Oakleigh electorate gets its fair share of funding and resources from the Brumby Government. Including:
- more than 1,600 extra police serving the whole of Victoria
- 22% more police officers serving the Oakleigh electorate
- stopped the closure of Murrumbeena Police Station
- opened a new 24 hour police station in Caulfield
- funding for a program in Monash to tackle alcohol and inhalant abuse
- funding for graffiti clean up in Glen Huntly through the Goodbye Graffiti strategy
