Scoring goals for the environment

Ann Barker joined AFL legend Shane Crawford to help promote the importance of recycling mobile phones as part of the MobileMuster Campaign.

MobileMuster is the official National recycling program of the mobile phone industry. Since starting to collect mobile phones and their components over 557 tonnes of mobile phone components had been collected by the end of December 2008. This includes over 3.83 million batteries and handsets.

Ann Barker said, "Sending your mobile phone to be recycled instead of sending it to landfill is one easy and simple way to reduce your impact on the environment. I urge local residents to gather up any unwanted mobile phones and batteries and drop them off at their nearest collection point"

"My office is a registered collection point so you can drop off your unwanted phones and batteries at 19 Station Street Oakleigh, or for a full list of participants visit www.mobilemuster.com.au "
