Ann Barker joined AFL legend Shane Crawford to help promote the importance of recycling mobile phones as part of the MobileMuster Campaign.
MobileMuster is the official National recycling program of the mobile phone industry and aims to increase recycling levels from 50 to 150 tonnes per annum by the end of 2008, and halve the number of handsets going to landfill.
Ann Barker said, "Sending your mobile phone to be recycled instead of sending it to landfill is one easy and simple way to reduce your impact on the environment. I urge local residents to gather up any unwanted mobile phones and batteries and drop them off at their nearest collection point"
"Most mobile phone retailers act as collection points, but for a full list of participants visit www.mobilemuster.com.au or contact Ann Barker.
