Four Oakleigh electorate early childhood services will share in Brumby Labor Government funding totalling $12.5 million for renovation and refurbishment works. Member for Oakleigh, Ann Barker, said the centres were 4 of 223 services across the state to receive grants to upgrade their existing facilities. “The Brumby Labor Government is taking action to give Victorian families access to the quality services they need so their children have the best possible opportunity to learn and develop to their full potential,” Ann Barker said. “Locally these grants will be used for a range of works including refurbishing and renovating of bathrooms, upgrading of outdoor play spaces, and the provision of water tanks and new outdoor equipment,” Ann Barker said. “The renovation and refurbishment works to be carried out at these facilities have been identified by the services as important to help them maintain, grow and expand services to meet the needs of families in their area." “It is fantastic that through these grants we are helping local kinders and childcare centres deliver the services and facilities that local families need." “I look forward to visiting these facilities when works are completed to experience first hand the improvements these grants have made.” |
